me.
My love of photography began when I discovered a National Geographic magazine in the basement of my grandparent’s house when I was a child. I got my first “real” camera when I graduated from college and I’ve made photos of people and places from all over the world ever since. I’ve always been drawn to documentary photography, travel, and human interest stories. I love those scroll-stopping photographs that elicit emotion and make you feel the energy that was happening in that moment. What a thrill!
Some facts about me:
I have 3 grown “kids” who I still enjoy embarrassing and a goldendoodle who I refer to as my favorite child.
I’m obsessed with traveling the world (and to obscure places). I’ve been to 58 countries, including all 7 continents, thanks to my airline pilot husband. #spousewithbenefits
I got married during the Blizzard of ‘96 in Washington, D.C. and missed seeing the Great Barrier Reef due to getting stuck in beautiful Newark, NJ!
I worked as a Dental Hygienist for over 20 years and I’ve volunteered with Operation Smile just as long.
My home is filled with music and my TV is rarely on.
I listen to Broadway music or TED talks while editing photos.
I’m known for being spontaneous and I’m usually the first person my friends call when they have last-minute tickets to an event.
I’m originally from Annapolis, MD (Go Navy!) and have lived in The Woodlands, TX since 2001.
I loathe cold weather unless I’m snow skiing. Cold weather for me is now 55 degrees. #becausetexasheat
I love to cook and I love coffee. Not just any coffee, GOOD coffee! #coffeesnob
I love meeting new people. I believe if you talk to someone long enough, you’ll find a connection. Sort of like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, but without said Bacon! (insert laughing emoji)
I live an active lifestyle and truly enjoy exercising. My motivation is I want to be able to travel in 20+ years like I do now, and not have my body say no!
I love showing the world through my lens!
